Features

None of this is new. What’s new is that it stays.

Topics, jobs, feedback – your company has all of this already. It’s just scattered: in the trainer’s head, on a note by the machine, in an email, mostly nowhere. LEHRWERK gives it a form that lasts three years.

01The routine

A week, not a project.

LEHRWERK is not something you have to roll out. It’s a few minutes, spread across the week – at moments when you talk to your apprentice anyway.

  1. Monday, two minutes

You set the topic of the week. Usually one that’s coming up anyway, because the job demands it.

  2. During the week

The apprentice sees where they stand and records what they’ve done. A photo, three sentences, done.

  3. Friday, two minutes

You write a short piece of feedback. What was good, what’s still missing. One sentence is enough.

  4. After three years

Around 150 weeks like this have become a portfolio nobody can ignore.

Four minutes a week. That’s less than the meeting in which, later on, nobody remembers what was actually practised.

02The scope

Six things, nothing more.

No construction kit, no modules, no settings you’ll never open. LEHRWERK does six things – and does them so they hold up in daily work.

Topics
What’s on right now lives in one place instead of five heads. You set the order, in the rhythm of your jobs.
Tasks
Real jobs from daily work instead of made-up practice cases. The apprentice knows what to do and what good work is measured against.
Feedback
A short response to work that’s been done. Not saved up for the qualification meeting, but given while both still remember what it was about.
Exercises
Short refreshers for the things that come up rarely and still have to stick. Ten minutes, not ten pages.
Records
A photo of the workpiece, a report, a finished job. Evidence builds up along the way instead of being reconstructed at the end.
Overview
One page that shows where your apprentice stands. For the conversation with the parents, with the vocational school and with the apprentice themselves.
03In practice

What a topic looks like.

No dashboard, no metrics. One topic, a few tasks, one sentence of feedback – and what’s worth keeping goes into the portfolio.

One sentence, written between two jobs, is still there three years later.

Feedback

«Clean work, and you thought ahead with the material. You were too quick when measuring – check twice before you say it fits.»

04The apprentices

The other half belongs to the apprentice.

Apprentices don’t work inside your view. “My space” is their side of LEHRWERK: the same topics, tasks and feedback as yours, just seen from the other direction. Plus the things that concern only them.

In their own space

The training path
All topics on one page: still open, practising, achieved. For the first time, an apprentice sees the whole apprenticeship and not just the current week.
Appointments
What’s coming up in the training is right there with them. Nobody has to pass it on.
The daily review
Two lines in the evening: how the day went. And a button to ask for support. Some find that easier to write than to say in the corridor.
Messages
Short questions go to the people responsible for them in the company. Not to a helpdesk.
The portfolio
What they’ve learnt and shown, they can pass on as a link or PDF. At the first job interview after the apprenticeship, they have something in hand.

For practising

A few small tools, all voluntary

Practice can’t be ordered. So these tools are short, available at any time and tied to the topic currently running – for the things that come up rarely and still have to stick.

ToolWhat for
QuizCheck knowledge. With explanations, not just right and wrong.
FlashcardsTerms and figures that have to stick. Written yourself or suggested.
Situation checkThink through a real-life situation and answer in your own words.
Show and explainExplain what you can do in a short voice recording. The company listens when it suits.

On top of that come short practice rounds, a personal glossary and preparation for the qualification procedure. No points, no streaks, no leaderboard – whoever practises does it for the exam, not for a badge.

Task, carry out, show, feedback. The tools stand alongside – never above the practice and never above you.

05Questions

Before you have to ask.

Does this fit our trade?
LEHRWERK is built to be industry-neutral. The topics come from your company – whether you train carpenters, commercial employees or healthcare assistants makes no difference to how it works.
How long does setup take?
You create your company and one apprentice and set a first topic. That’s an afternoon, not a project week.
What do apprentices work with?
Their phone, a tablet or a computer at the company. There’s nothing to install – just a browser.
Does this replace the learning documentation?
That’s for your industry to decide. What’s recorded in LEHRWERK can be printed and attached – whether it counts as learning documentation is for your professional organisation (OdA) to say.
And the artificial intelligence?
It helps in the background with wording and suggestions. Decisions are made in the company. If you don’t notice it in daily work, it’s doing its job.
06Getting started

The quickest way to see it is with one apprentice.

Create an apprentice, set a topic and write two sentences on Friday. After two weeks you’ll know whether it does anything for your company.
